The Catalinas, The Carolinas Premiere Beach Music Band since 1957"
The Catalinas based out of Charlotte, NC have enjoyed continued success for over 65 years. The band is known for thousands of live performances including many concerts and their antics of their very lively shows with the best horn section on the circuit.
Our current members are Lynn Barker, Jerry West, Dwight Nichols, Donald Jordan, Norman Allred and Rob Massengale. Horns - Kevin Bowen, Shawn Harris and Harry Hassell.
The band's popularity is based primarily in the southeastern US.
Known for their quality, tight sound and energy onstage, they are one of the "in demand" groups for city festivals, weddings and private parties, always playing a variety of music from "Summertime's Calling Me", the beloved #4 all time Beach Music favorite to Bruno Mars is well received by the fans. that suits all ages.
The Catalinas began in 1957 in Myers Park High School in Charlotte, NC and celebrate their 69th Anniversary in 2026! The bands popularity is based primarily in southeastern US, however, the band's music is played on radio stations in the UK, Greece and Australia to name a few. Though known for Beach Music, regionally and nationally for the mega hit "Summertime's Calling Me", The Catalinas play all styles to a high standard of excellence. "Summertime's Calling Me" has become the anthem of North and South Carolina beach goers as they struggle through the winter waiting on summer to arrive. This song is credited for being largely responsible for the new wave of "Beach Music" that started when it was released in 1975.
